I forgot to tell you about some birds we saw. We were driving down the road to the church, a short cut between buildings, and we saw a lot of birds swarming around. We had some time so we stopped.
They are quite small and were flying very fast darting around in a feeding frenzy. I identified them as Swiftlets. We think we saw two different types of them. They never land, just darting everywhere. So I read up on them.
They are the birds that make the nest that the famous "Birdnest Soup" is made from. They are farmed here also. Now I watch for them and see them in the evening all over the city. What an interesting find. Just heard today that one of the investigators works for a Chinese man that farms them. She sorts the nests to find the best eating ones. As you can guess, I'm sure the birds are going to decrease in number if they aren't careful.
What I want to know is who decided to eat a nest to see if tasted good???????
